My Neighbour Totoro
WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!!!
Based on the celebrated 1988 animated feature film, My Neighbour Totoro is a classic coming-of-age story with some magic thrown in for good measure. It tells the tale of Mei – a young girl thrust into difficult circumstances, who soon finds herself transported to an enchanted land filled with spirits and sprites. It’s an inspiring tale of friendship, showing its audience how important our friends can be when searching for comfort in difficult times.
The Play That Goes Wrong
STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS!!!
The Play That Goes Wrong is the most improbable hit in the whole of the West End. It grew from the grassroots up, gradually winning a fanbase as word-of-mouth spread like a wildfire. Today, after five years at the Duchess Theatre, it is a tourist attraction in its own right: accessible, entertaining and very, very English.
Framed as a creaky am-dram performance that comes apart at the seams, The Play That Goes Wrong does exactly what it says on the tin. It is the ultimate comedy of errors: a farce fashioned out of forgotten lines, missed cues and wobbly scenery.
Mousetrap
The Mousetrap is the world’s longest running stage show. A murder mystery written by Agatha Christie, queen of the whodunit, it opened in the West End in 1952 and has been in situ ever since. For 65 years, audiences have famously been asked not to give away its big, final twist – the identity of the killer – and for 65 years, they’ve kept their end of the bargain.
